The 0.2 kW Electric Power Transmission Training System consists of modular hardware with the corresponding courseware. It allows electrical phenomena to be observed through voltage transients and power oscillations. Voltage regulation, real and reactive power flow control, and system stability can also be observed in the laboratory exercises.
The training system was developed by educators to satisfy educational requirements that include industrial applications of electrical power technology. The design objective was to develop a low-power (0.2 kW) transmission line system of equipment that operates like industrial equipment. Through careful attention to engineering detail, the 0.2 kW Electric Power Transmission Training System has achieved this objective and in so doing, provides laboratory results that are easy to understand, with data values that are easily observed. The data, when applied to formulas, provide results that verify electrical laws.
